*Position Overview:*
An Indian Curry Chef specializes in preparing a variety of authentic Indian curries and other dishes using traditional techniques, spices, and flavors. This role involves creating high-quality meals that meet customer expectations while maintaining food safety and hygiene standards.
*Key Responsibilities:*
*Curry Preparation:*
* Prepare and cook a wide range of Indian curries, including vegetarian, non-vegetarian, and regional specialties (e.g., butter chicken, dal makhani, biryanis, kormas).
* Blend and grind spices to create fresh masalas and flavor bases.
*Menu Development:*
* Collaborate with the kitchen team or management to design and update the menu.
* Incorporate seasonal ingredients and regional variations into the menu to attract diverse clientele.
*Cooking Techniques:*
* Mastery of traditional Indian cooking methods, such as tandoor, slow cooking, frying, and simmering.
* Operate kitchen equipment like tandoor ovens, grinders, and pressure cookers.
*Quality Control:*
* Ensure that all dishes are prepared with consistent taste, texture, and presentation.
* Regularly monitor food freshness and ensure proper storage of spices, ingredients, and leftovers.
*Team Collaboration:*
* Work with other chefs and kitchen staff to manage meal preparation during peak hours.
* Train junior staff or assistants on Indian cooking techniques and kitchen procedures.
*Inventory Management:*
* Monitor stock levels of spices, fresh produce, and other essential ingredients.
* Place timely orders to replenish inventory while minimizing waste.
*Hygiene and Safety:*
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
* Adhere to all food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
*Customer Satisfaction:*
* Adjust dishes to accommodate dietary restrictions or customer preferences.
* Ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders to enhance the dining experience.
*Skills & Qualifications:*
*Technical Expertise:*
* Proficient in Indian cooking techniques and the use of spices, herbs, and condiments like garam masala, turmeric, cardamom, and curry leaves.
* Knowledge of regional Indian cuisines (e.g., North Indian, South Indian, Bengali, Punjabi, or Goan).
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 ? 40 per week
