Job Title: *Manger of Food and Services *
*Reports To: Senior Director of Development and Philanthropy *
For over 26 years, Harvest House Atlantic exists to meet the needs of people who are lost, lonely, addicted, and hurting, by ?Connecting people of compassion with people in need to make a difference.? Our services include our Emergency Shelter, Community Centre, Addiction Recovery Program, and Community Based Housing Program.
As we cater to the needs of the homeless and unhoused population, we are actively seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a *Manager of Food Services.* This new role is pivotal in ensuring access to safe and nutritious food for vulnerable populations. In this role, you will collaborate with community organizations, government agencies, and food banks to develop and implement strategies that address food security.
*Job Requirement *
1. Start As soon as possible
2. Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours a week
3. Starting salary: $46,800.00 Gross Per Annum Plus Benefits (post 6-month probation)
4. Location: In-person, Moncton Area, NB
5. Role Allocation: 50% Community Engagement and Procurement, 30% Administration & Supervisory management, 20% Organizational/Community meals and inventory management
*Mandatory Training Certifications (Must provide)*
· Food Handler and Training Certification
· Clear Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Screen
· Clean Drivers Abstract
· First Aid CPR-C Certificate
· WHMIS
· Copy of post-secondary certificate(s)
· Legally eligible to work in Canada
*QUALIFICATIONS*
*Education: *
Post Secondary Education/Certificate in food service management, Hospitality, Community Relations, Business, or a related field.
*Experience: *
* Minimum of 3 years? experience in a managerial role within the food industry
* Must have Valid Class 5 driver?s license, access to reliable transportation, and able to travel for meetings and fieldwork (mileage compensated if using own vehicle)
* Proven track record of successfully managing food services, preferably in a non-profit or community-focused setting.
* Demonstrated experience in program planning, Teams management and community relations.
* Bilingualism is considered a strong asset
* Experience working or volunteering in the non-profit sector; homelessness sector is an asset.
* Interest in sustainability, food rescue, and hunger relief.

*KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES *
*1. Program Planning and Collaboration:*
* Collaborate with community organizations, government agencies, and food banks.
* Develop and implement strategies addressing food security.
* Work closely with the Director of Programs and Services.
* Travel to engage food businesses for surplus and unsold food donations.
* Implement and maintain a strategic food donor acquisition and retention plan.
*2. Kitchen and Food Management:*
* Manage kitchen, sanitation, food inventories, and purchasing for shelter and program needs.
* Support organizational special events such as holidays.
* Arrange and coordinate food bank orders and pick-ups.
* Management of kitchen staff and volunteers.
* On-going coordination with Shelter Manager and staff.
*3. Program Development and Implementation:*
* Develop inter-city programs and partnership to support sector needs.
* Develop practical guidelines for efficiencies.
