Duties to be performed in the course of various construction projects and on various construction job sites as well as at Peak Construction Ltd.?s head office (15315 31st Avenue, Suite 100, Surrey, British Columbia, V3Z 6X2) Salary: CAD $38.46/hour (with annual salary review) Start date: As soon as possible Peak Construction Ltd. is seeking to fill a permanent, full-time position at 40 hours per week, for a Construction Technologist in Surrey, British Columbia. At Peak, we pride ourselves on providing large firm capabilities, while maintaining small firm personal commitment and overhead costs. *Responsibilities* · Assist in understanding and preparing construction specifications, cost and material estimates for the project, which includes: working with constructions managers, architects, engineers and owners to review project requirements and material selections. · Conduct field surveys and inspections of road and highway systems, buildings and structures to provide data for engineering projects which includes: Moreso buildings and structures, conducting site analysis and field level quantity survey, quantification of material and assembly(ies), record keeping and reporting. · Conduct inspection of construction materials which includes: ensuring that material complies with project and safety requirements, quantity analysis, logistic and placement (reviewing relevancy and accuracy as well as staging of the material), assisting with correlation of material received with construction documents. · Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors. · May supervise, monitor and inspect construction projects, which includes: preparing detailed take-offs and quantity surveys from construction drawings, post installation (provide status project update and report with analysis and percentage of completed work), assisting in payment schedule and other administrative duties. *Skills and Requirements*: (includes education and work experience) · 2-3 year post-secondary degree · Minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction field · Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques particularly relating to high-tower construction · Excellent mathematical skills with attention to detail · Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities · Fluent in English with excellent communication and negotiation skills · Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Benefits: RRSP match, comprehensive extended benefits plan (including dental care, extended health care, paid time off), continued professional development and many employee events and opportunities.
