<p>SUMMARY OF THE POSITION<br>Person who carries out design, evaluation, orientation, consultation, updating and analysis activities in one or more social programs.</p><p>SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS <br>Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Maanuuhiikuu/Mental Health Services, and in collaboration with Wiichihiituwin/Cree Patient Services the incumbent will: </p><ul><li>Analyse, evaluate, and determine the degree of urgency of requests for psychotherapy and intensive psychotherapy services made by professional healthcare and psychosocial collaborators within the Cree Board of Health; </li><li>Contact referral sources and clients for further information, to complete required intake information (Ishkotem Pathway); </li><li>Maintain an updated schedule of available mental health service providers, including their schedules, and their areas of expertise; </li><li>Schedule and match client needs with available mental health service providers; </li><li>Collaborate with Wiichihiituwin/Cree Patient Services to provide lodging for clients travelling to other communities for services; </li><li>Be prepared to receive training on Care4, or any other required software program, to track client needs and services provided; </li><li>Help to prepare annual statistics detailing client services and completed service requests; </li><li>Provide support for non-clinical staff in the nine Community Miyupimaatisiiun Centers (CLSC-type clinics) in analysing and prioritizing internal referrals for Mental Health services; </li><li>Any other related tasks deemed necessary.</li></ul><p>REQUIREMENTS<br>Education: * Must hold, depending on the required field of activities, a bachelor's degree in human sciences or social sciences such as criminology, social work or psychology.* A human relations officer who has the required university degree in social work and is a member of the Ordre professionnel des travailleurs sociaux du Québec may use the title of professional social worker.</p><p>Experience:</p><ul><li>Two years of pertinent experience.</li></ul><p>Knowledge and Abilities:</p><ul><li>Knowledge of Cree culture, psychosocial, health and mental health issues, Eenou/Eeyou Pimaatsiiun healing practices and paradigms is an asset</li><li>Good knowledge of MSSS legislation, regulations, the Ministry Network and programs, and current trends is an asset</li><li>Knowledge of First Nation health/social service models, trends and issues is an asset</li><li>Ability to identify and analyze clientele needs</li><li>Excellent critical thinking, synthesis, organizational and decision-making skills</li><li>Sense of accountability, resourcefulness and vigilance</li><li>Ability to communicate theoretical and practical knowledge, as applied to coaching and training</li><li>Ability to work in collaboration with a wide variety of professional, clinical, and non-clinical team members and colleagues</li><li>Excellent communication skills, both written and oral</li><li>Autonomy and flexibility </li><li>Good working knowledge of computer applications</li><li>Cultural flexibility, open to a wide variety of languages, cultures, values, and beliefs</li><li>Willingness to travel extensively and participate in required training</li></ul><p>LANGUAGE* Fluent in English;* Fluency in French and/or Cree is an asset.</p>
