DISTRICT OF SAANICHPARKS, RECREATION, AND COMMUNITY SERVICESBRAEFOOT PARK CENTRE, SAANICH COMMONWEALTH PLACE AND GORDON HEAD RECREATION CENTREINSTRUCTOR II - RED CROSS BABYSITTINGUp To Three Casual PositionsBraefoot Park Centre, Saanich Commonwealth Place and Gordon Head Recreation Centers are seeking experienced and qualified instructors to offer basic first aid and caregiving skills for youth 11-15 years old. Instructor II ensures that participants learn how to provide care for children in a variety of age groups, and how to prevent and respond to emergencies. The ideal candidates will have the ability to be inclusive and flexible to ensure a positive environment is created for all participants; demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills; and the ability to maintain a high degree of enthusiasm and personal motivation. Requirements include completion of Grade 10; three months experience in related area of instruction; Red Cross Youth Leader Award; Satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (PIC-VS) no older than 6 months; Emergency First-Aid and CPR-C required. An equivalent combination of education and expertise may be considered. The successful candidates will work Evenings and Weekends in varying shifts as required (hours/shifts are subject to change). This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $26.16 per hour plus 15% in lieu of benefits. Job description and competition information can be found at www.saanich.ca.
