Education: College/CEGEP. Geriatric nurse/nursing. Practical nursing, vocational nursing and nursing assistants, other. Work setting: Day care centre or nursery school. Health care institution, facility or clinic. Tasks: Administer medications. Apply aseptic techniques including sterile dressing. Ensure infection control. Monitor nutritional intake. Record medication's therapeutic and side effects observations in patient files. Take vital signs. Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families. Monitor patients' progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and consult with appropriate members of healthcare team.
