Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: On-site customer service. Commercial. Relocation costs covered by employer. Residential. Willing to relocate. Tasks: Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning oil burners, and their components and controls. Lay out oil burner heating system components and assemble components using hand and power tools. Test installed unit and adjust controls for proper functioning. Perform scheduled maintenance and service. Instruct apprentices. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Oil Burner Mechanic (Residential) Trade Certification. Oil Burner Mechanic (Residential) Red Seal Certificate. Type of heating system: Oil. Equipment and machinery experience: Burners. Oil primary control. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Vehicle supplied by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Attention to detail. Manual dexterity. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Accurate. Client focus. Dependability. Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication. Judgement. Team player.
