Job details
*Responsibilities:* * Oversee all accounting functions, including banking, accounts receivable (A/R), accounts payable (A/P), asset management, intercompany transactions, general ledger, and foreign exchange. * Lead the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and variance reports. * Generate and distribute monthly financial statements in a timely manner. * Ensure compliance with government reporting obligations and tax filings. * Develop and document accounting policies and business processes to enhance internal controls. * Formulate strategies for financial growth. * Monitor cash flow and balance financial resources to meet obligations and optimize investments. * Assess and manage financial risks. * Coordinate audit processes and collaborate with external accountants. * Design and enforce policies and internal controls to protect assets and minimize fraud. * Prepare and file HST returns. * Oversee payroll processing and labor tax compliance, including WSIB, EHT, and year-end T4 processing. * Supervise and mentor accounting staff. * Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reduction. * Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including banks, insurance providers, and government entities. * Lead IT initiatives, including system implementations and changes. * Oversee all aspects of the ERP system. * Administer expense report processing and related software management. * Assist in the planning and preparation of grant proposals, guiding investigators through funding agency regulations and requirements. * Stay informed on U.S. State reporting and sales tax compliance. * Handle company transactions and prepare related financial statements. *Requirements:* * Bachelor's degree. * CA/CPA designation. * Minimum 5 years of relevant experience. * Experience in U.S. State reporting is a plus. * Familiarity with intercompany transactions is an asset.
