The Montessori Early Learning Centre (MELC) is a local early childhood education centre dedicated to offering quality Montessori programming for children aged 3 to 5 years old. Since its inception in early 2018, MELC and its dedicated team of Montessorians have worked hard to develop a quality program and an exceptional reputation. We are looking for an experienced and qualified Montessori Assistant to join our excellent team. *Please note, this job is located in SE Calgary.* *Personal qualities* - Positive, engaged, and passionate about Montessori and working with young children. - Calm gentle demeanor and excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language. - Strong team player, who is flexible, pro-active, reliable, and able to use own initiative to get the job done well. *Key responsibilities* - Supervise and manage children?s classroom behavior consistent with the Montessori philosophy, using proven strategies & techniques, enabling the Lead to give lessons and/or children to do their work, without disruption or interruption. - Monitor each child and guide them, using Montessori knowledge and training, to complete their work cycles, including putting materials away correctly and cleaning up after themselves, as required. - Use Montessori training, knowledge, and experience to consistently guide and facilitate each child?s use of grace & curtsy practices throughout the day. *- *Help maintain a well organized and clean classroom environment. - Be a strong team player and a good role model for children and parents, always modeling courteous and professional behavior. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: From $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 30 per week Benefits: * Dental care * Extended health care * On-site parking * Paid time off Schedule: * Monday to Friday Experience: * Montessori Assistant: 1 year (required) Licence/Certification: * Montessori Assistant Certification (required) * Alberta Childcare Certification (required) Work Location: In person- LocationCalgary, AB
