Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Manufacture. Tasks: Direct and control the operations of commercial facilities. Identify customers' needs . Oversee the preparation of reports and statistics related to areas of responsibility. Prepare reports and statistics related to areas of responsibility. Recommend products or services to customers. Assess client's needs and resources to recommend the appropriate goods or services. Develop reports and proposals to illustrate benefits from use of good or service. Estimate costs of installing and maintaining equipment or service. Use sales forecasting software. Provide input into product design where goods or services must be tailored to suit client's needs. Administer contracts for the provision of supplies and services. Consult with clients after sale to provide ongoing support. Develop and implement schedules and procedures for safety inspections and preventive maintenance programs. Direct the maintenance and repair of an establishment's machinery, equipment and electrical and mechanical systems. Hire and oversee training and supervision of staff. Plan and manage the facility's operations budget. Resolve product and service related problems. Troubleshoot problems related to equipment. Supervise activities of other technical sales specialists. Organize and maintain inventory. Conduct research to determine efficiency and effectiveness of managerial policies and programs. Recommend corrective or enforcement action.
