<p>SUMMARY OF THE POSITION<br>A person who is in charge of one or more programmes or projects for the purpose of providing professional assistance in the development of services, in particular by advising, monitoring or supporting various actors in one or more programmes or projects.</p><p>It carries out the research activities necessary for the identification and evaluation of resources and needs. It designs and proposes development plans and programmes to ensure adequate planning of services. She advises on the implementation or improvement of programs and/or services. It may participate in various teaching and training activities.</p><p>SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS<br>The PPRO SERC Person who works in a multidisciplinary surveillance team and carries out analyses to: * Develop health portraits of the population. * She/He studies patterns and spatial and temporal variations in population health, identify public health issues, identify priority issues of public health.* She/He develops future scenarios regarding the health status of the population and follow the development of specific health problems and their determining factors. * The person is involved in the collection and compilation of data in accordance with best scientific practice of public health, in the analysis and interpretation of data, in writing public health reports and represents the Board in collaborative forums in regards to this mandate</p><p>REQUIREMENTS<br>Education: * Bachelor of science, with specialization in health, social services, biology or a related field; * Masters degree in biostatistics, epidemiology or demography is a strong an asset.</p><p>Experience:</p><ul><li>Three (3) years of relevant experience including experience in health surveys or quantitative analysis of health and social data is required. </li></ul><p>Knowledge and Abilities:</p><ul><li>Good knowledge of MSSS legislation, regulations, the Ministry network and programs, and current trends;</li><li>Knowledge of and experience with community health interventions, prevention and promotion related approaches and methods;</li><li>Good knowledge of quantitative methods of analysis and knowledge of qualitative methods of analysis; </li><li>Good knowledge of Public Health surveillance in Québec and its related theory, practice, current issues and trends; </li><li>Knowledge and demonstrated experience in organizational strategic and tactical planning, program planning and evaluation;</li><li>Advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience in planning, adapting, developing and implementing new programs, and improving quality of existing programs;</li><li>Knowledge of, or ability to grasp the issues and context related to First Nations northern communities' health and social life;</li><li>Ability to integrate Eenou/Eeyou (Cree) culture, values, traditions and teachings into programming and evaluation;</li><li>Knowledge of First Nation health and social service models, trends and issues is an asset;</li><li>Command of the principle software programs used for quantitative data analysis (SAS, SPSS, EXCEL etc.);</li><li>Ability to provide training is an asset;</li><li>Excellent leadership and teamwork skills;</li><li>Excellent critical thinking, organizational and decision-making skills;</li></ul><p>LANGUAGE* Fluent in English;* Fluency in Cree or French is an asset.</p><p>OTHER* Available to travel inside and outside of the Eeyou Istchee territory as required* This position is teleworking* This position is currently being offered telework, subject to operational needs. Please note that this is not a permanent condition of the position and the employer reserves the right to request regular physical presence in the office.</p>
