*About the Opportunity*
Dawson Wallace currently has an opportunity for an enthusiastic *Architect* to join our team in our *Calgary Branch.* This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking projects and grow in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong design sensibility and technical expertise, with a passion for creating functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces. As an Architect, you will be responsible for leading projects from conception through completion, collaborating with clients, engineers, and contractors to ensure that designs meet both client expectations and regulatory requirements.
This position reports to the Operations Manager. Among others, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Leading the design process from conceptual development through construction documentation.
* Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to understand project requirements and translate them into functional designs.
* Develop detailed drawings, models, and specifications using tools like AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar software.
* Ensure designs comply with building codes, regulations, and sustainability practices.
* Oversee construction phases to ensure quality control and design integrity.
* Participate in project meetings and provide solutions to technical challenges.
* Stay updated on architectural trends, materials, and best practices.
*The Requirements:*
* Bachelor?s or master?s degree in architecture.
* Licensed Architect
* 5+ years of professional experience in architectural design and project management.
* Strong understanding of building codes, zoning laws, and construction processes.
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
* Ability to budget effectively and negotiate contracts with vendors and contractors.
* Excellent drafting skills with attention to detail.
* Proven experience in business development or client relationship management is a plus.
* Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam REVU, Adobe Creative Suite & Sketch-Up, BIM modeling.
