*Job Posting* On- Site Consultant ? Immediate ? Casual, Contract *Available Service Areas* * Toronto and the GTA * Brampton * Mississauga * East of Toronto * Areas north of Toronto to Hwy 9 *What Would You Do?* * Your primary role is to attend client locations to collect information for the preparation of a fire safety plan * Travel to client sites * Audit client fire protection and fire safety resources * Recognize and document potential fire code violations and safety hazards * Conduct fire drills and teach building supervisory staff required skills * You will become the ?face? of the project as you will be meeting clients directly * Present yourself in a confident, professional yet approachable manner * Diligently prepare and remit notes and reports * Mark up floor plans with key elements for use in fire safety plans * Assist as requested in clarifying your notes * The position may evolve to your leading fire drills with our clients * Work safely and follow health and safety policies *Who We Are* We are an industry leader in the production of expert, custom fire safety plans. Training will be provided. *Who You Are* * You have reasonable availability during regular business hours * You are an individual who takes pride in working with integrity and honesty * You want to work in an environment that values your contributions and commitment * You are passionate about fire safety and fire code compliance * You are committed to excellence It is also ok if: * You have another job * You may work for other companies within the fire protection industry, if there is no conflict of interest * You are an active fire services professional, but you will not be permitted to perform work in your own jurisdiction * You may be a retired fire prevention inspector who may be looking to earn extra income * You are a student of fire protection engineering or fire code studies *Education* * Post-secondary diploma in fire safety, emergency management, engineering or equivalent is required in related field * Relevant certifications or coursework in fire safety, emergency management, or a related field are preferred. * Advanced credentials (e.g., NFPA, CFAA) are highly desirable *Skills and Competencies* * Able to identify fire protection equipment, building services equipment and other key elements of a fire safety plan * Able to identify hazards and fire code shortcomings * Demonstrate maturity, discretion and professionalism when interacting with clients * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Attentive to detail, including instructions for projects * · Ability to comfortably use Office 365 programs online, including Outlook, Teams and more * Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently * Willingness to participate in training and team meetings * Possession of relevant professional qualification * Demonstrated experience in conducting inspections * In-depth knowledge of fire safety regulations, codes, and standards * Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. * Ability to pass a background check, if required by client * Willingness and ability to travel to various client sites as needed. * Follow policies and procedures * Have and wear personal protective equipment on sites, where required *Renumeration* * This position is paid on a flat-rate basis * Multiple factors impact the rate, such as location, property type and occupancy * We pay well t- LocationToronto, ON
