<p>YORK CATHOLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD <p>Invites applications for the position of: <p>Student Transportation Planner <p>One (1) Temporary Full-Time Position <p>Effective to September 2025 <p> Exempt Level 4 ($32.11 to $41.15 per hour) <p>Position Summary:<p>Student Transportation Services of York Region (STSYR) is the transportation consortium for<p>the York Catholic District School Board (YCDSB), and the York Region District School Board<p>(YRDSB). STSYR provides safe, effective and efficient transportation service to more than<p>56,000 students and over 300 schools covering more than 90,000 kilometers daily.<p>Under the direction of the Area Operations Supervisor, Student Transportation, the Student<p>Transportation Planner provides professional and courteous customer service for a variety of<p>internal and external customers. In addition, the Student Transportation Planner will be<p>responsible for the planning and administration of safe, efficient, and cost-effective<p>transportation routes for students within a designated area portfolio.<p>Major Responsibilities:<p><p> Respond to telephone and/or email service requests and inquiries from parents, school<p> administration, school bus contractors, and other stakeholders.<p> Plan and administer routes in accordance with the boards? transportation policies as well<p> as analyze bus routes and propose routing changes to improve efficiency and service<p> levels. <p> Design new transportation routes as required, assess current conditions pertaining to<p> existing routes, conduct site visits/area checks as needed, and recommend changes as<p> required. <p> Maintain and update student, bus, and route data as required to ensure information is<p> current and accurate.<p> Assist in gathering information, analyzing costs, and preparing reports as required.<p><p><p> Qualifications and Experience:<p><p> Diploma or certificate in a planning or transportation related field.<p> 2-3 years? experience in the transportation sector.
