Position Title: Line MechanicPosition Type: Temporary - Full-Time Position Location: Grand Falls Grade: Scale 07 Requisition ID: 33313 Department: Main Plant - Mechanical Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor Purpose: This posting is to cover the replacement of Line Mechanic during absence for vacations and/or leaves.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training requirements.Must be on the Maintenance Helper pool.The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible of providing safety, GMP, HACCP, environmental, equipment, software, or any other required training, as needed. Training will be given on the job.Must be mechanically inclined.Safety requirements: Attend Safety TalksFollow Lockout / Tag-Out procedures and all McCain Safety PoliciesWear appropriate PPE and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)Work safe and promote a safe working environment to fellow employeesComplete Job Safety Plans / Recognize safety hazards and correct themJob responsibilities:Carry out duties assigned by the Maintenance SupervisorComplete scheduled work and Preventive Maintenance (PM) workTroubleshoot and repair equipment problems Use the computerized maintenance management system for processing work orders and preventative maintenance tasks. Technically Complete (TECO) work orders and enter confirmation comments in SAP.Identify equipment malfunctions and create Notifications in SAP to have issues addressed.Create Emergency or Reactive work orders to complete unplanned jobs.Maintain shop and follow good housekeeping practices (5S)Complete Hot Works Permits, Job Safety Plans and other Follow McCain maintenance, HACCP and Environmental programs such as "Temporary Repairs", "Sanitation after Maintenance", Waste Management and Recycling (Waste Oil Disposal), etc.Must be able and willing to work 5 days a week on a set schedule and to additionally help break vacations for people on shift on a 4-day rotation (2 days - 2 nights, 4 days off). Must be flexible with their schedule.Must be able and willing to come in on days off during Sanitation days and Shutdowns NOTE: This description constitutes the minimum requirements for a Day Shift Mechanic.
