*About the role:*
The *Production Engineer *designs and manages projects from their initial quotation stage through to shipment of completed manufactured products, while supporting the Production Team in achieving long-term sustainment in customer satisfaction and quality management.
· Provide engineering and support at initial sales level and front end of projects, to completion.
· Design engineering of racks, bins, containers and custom metal products.
· Responsible for detailing fabrication drawings and BOMs using latest SolidWorks
· Estimating, building accurate costing, BOMs and purchasing using proprietary software.
· Project management of all small through large production sized projects.
· Quality management and on-site review of manufactured products.
· Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
· Meet deadlines as per commitments and customer requirements.
· Travel approx. 1-2 days per week - to Main office in Markham as needed (vehicle required).
· Travel approx. 1-3 times per week - to local suppliers in KW area as needed (vehicle required).
*Desired skills and experience:*
We?re looking for a multitalented professional that is comfortable working autonomously, can confidently prioritize multiple tasks and able to problem solve on a variety of challenges.
· Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
· Strong skills and experience with Engineering, Detail Fabrication Drawings and BOMs.
· Full understanding and experience with 3D CAD Modelling, using the latest SolidWorks.
· Strong knowledge of carbon steel material grades & types for selection of available materials (Sheet/Plate, HSS, Structural Steel, Bars, etc.).
· Full understanding of welding & weld processes.
· Full understanding of carbon steel working processes for manufacturing (IE: CNC machining, forming, punching, laser cutting, robotic welding, etc.).
· Experience in working with various vendors (metal and plastics suppliers, machine shops, etc.)
· Skilled in computer environment (3D CAD, MS Office, etc.).
· Self-motivated, goal oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong communication skills.
