Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Mountain driving expertise. Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports. Driver logbook. Maintenance and repair reports. Trip reports. Communication systems experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Trip recorder (on-board computer). Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Drive manual transmission vehicle. Willing to travel for extended periods. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Sitting. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Personal suitability: Flexibility. Reliability.
