Peace River Regional DistrictBuilding Inspector Full Time, Permanent Position - Fort St. JohnPosition OverviewReporting to the General Manager of Development Services or designate, the Building Inspector will be responsible for the supervision of the PRRD?s building and plumbing inspection function, the coordination and performance of plan checks, and the inspections and enforcement related to the Building Inspection function of the Regional District. The Building Inspector administers a variety of local government, Provincial and Federal bylaws and regulations. QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of related experience as a building inspector, with preparation of construction documents and construction inspections, or related discipline. Applicants must possess a Valid Class 5 Driver's License, a satisfactory Criminal Record check and one of the following: Building Inspector I - Successful completion of Level 1 Building Official certificate from BOABC Building Inspector II - Successful completion of Level 2 Building Official certificate from BOABC Building Inspector III - Successful completion of Level 3 Building Official certificate from BOABC Additional InformationThe hours of work are Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, with one hour for lunch. The after-probation rate of pay for this union position is: Building Inspector I - $38.71/hr, plus benefits. Building Inspector II - $47.82/hr, plus benefits.
