Position: | Full-Time Mobile Security Guard Site: | City of Markham - 101 Towncentre Blvd, Markham Ontario Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours OR ESA Hours: | Continental Rotation - 1600 - 0400 Pay rate: | $20.60 / Hr Posting Date: November 11, 2024Closing Date: December 9, 2024 Schedule Example: Week 1 - Nights - Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat Week 2 - Nights - Sun, Wed-Thu **Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of driving experience and must provide with the application a clear driver abstract and have a G Class Drivers License. **Candidates with an educational background in Police Foundations, Law Enforcement, and/or criminal justice studies will be preferred) The City of Markham (City) is looking for Mobile Security Guards for the Markham Civic Centre, located at 101 Town Centre Boulevard, and other City locations on an as-required basis. In each of the locations, strict but diplomatic enforcement of security is required. You will, in the course of your duties, encounter numerous situations that cannot be covered by Standing Orders, site-specific security operations proceed which outline the duties and contain property and facility information. For this reason, it is imperative that you have a proven ability to use your own initiative and are capable of representing the City of Markham in a firm butDuties & Responsibilities: Proactive & reactive security patrolsProvide leadership, direction, and ongoing coaching and trainingEnsure all standing orders and scheduled daily activities are carried out as required for each shiftEnsure all Security Guards have received the mandatory trainingDiscipline staff when necessary to ensure proper documentation is passed on to head officeDocument and investigate security incidents and complaintsCommunicate any concerns/issues with the Client Service ManagerInvestigate routine incidentsManage events and/or organizations leading up to any eventsCoordinate and oversee all extra coverage requirements with Paladin Head OfficeDevelop and maintain a training program for the department as well as each individual Supervisor/GuardDevelop and maintain site post-ordersSchedule and track recertification training as requiredResearch and develop additional training and education, based on department needs and Supervisor/Guard interestsCreate and implement a standardized evaluation processAttend Supervisor and Management team meetings and ensure officers receive all pertinent informationRespond to questions and concerns arising from the front-line staffQuality Control ? Ensure performance matrix standards are metCoordinate the case management of investigationsDevelop educational awareness programsMaintain security application databases and administer all SoftwareParticipate in committees (where applicable)Liaise with police and other agenciesProvide Statistical AnalysisManage Key Control & Auditing (with the City employees)Track and follow up on Incident ReportsBe an accurate and dependable resource having knowledge about services on campusBe able to comprehend and demonstrate competencies of City of Markham and the Security policies and procedures with an ability to use a customer service approachBe attentive to the needs of the visitors and as well as be able to build relationships with the city community.Be able to keep an open and objective mind, remembering the city's diverse community.Encourage a safe and supportive environment.Assist visitors, and employees during crisis and contact the necessary emergency services as neededFrequently inspect the facility for damage and report to management.Ensure that the property is safe by ensuring all security measures are functioning properly.Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB) Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the posi
