Teachers are typically placed in long term temporary positions such as medical/parental leaves or continuing vacancies. To learn more about the various programs within our district, follow this link: Learning Support Programs and Services<p> Works with students with developmental disabilities and/or autism <p> Conducts a variety of assessments including classroom observation, curriculum based, informal and formal<p> Provides direct instruction to students using a variety of teaching and management strategies<p> Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized education plans (IEPs) <p> Uses Functional Behaviour Assessments to develop positive behaviour support plans <p> Liaisons with parents, school, district staff and multi-disciplinary team (eg. doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, social workers)<p> Works collaboratively as part of a team.<p><p>Qualifications: <p><p> Completion of a Bachelor of Education<p> Completion of one of the following: <p> <p> Masters in Special Education <p> Diploma in Special Education <p> 1 year Full-Time Continuing contract as a Resource Teacher. <p> <p> Prior teaching experience is an asset.<p> Completion of an Educational Assistant program and/or experience as an Educational Assistant is an asset.<p> Membership in or eligible to become a member in the Teacher Regulation Branch<p> Registration with the Teacher Qualification Service<p><p>Your application MUST include: <p><p> Cover letter <p> Resume <p> 3 Professional References -names, email addresses and phone numbers of your last three Administrators.
