*Job Overview* We are seeking a Production Assistant for a commercial sewing room. The ideal candidate can work independently, detail-oriented, organized and likes to work efficiently. Hours and days of the week can be flexible. *Responsibilities* * Assist the production manager and sewers by marking patterns, cut and organize notions such as velcro, piping and other pieces. * Help to maintain the organization of the production tables and floor. * Inspect garments when completed. * If learning to sew is of interest and you already have some basic sewing skill, commercial training can be provided. This can lead to a full-time position of assistant and sewer. *Requirements* * No previous experience or schooling is required. * Comfortable lifting up to 20lbs and handling scissors and other small tools. * Willingness to learn followed by the ability to work quickly is a must. * Collaborative, patient and calm. Ability to follow instructions, meet timelines (once trained), follow a list of tasks which include measurements and quantities. * Basic math skills for following list of tasks. * Strong communication skills and desire to help the whole team succeed in a busy environment. * Ideal for a parent who needs to be home outside of school hours. * Ideally this is 4-5hrs/day, Monday-Friday but not required.
