*Production Assistant* *Who we are:* Toolpath Design serves a diverse clientele, providing manufacturing and CNC milling of woods, metals, plastics and composites. Cabinetry, furniture, signage and custom parts are just some of the things we produce in our woodworking shop. Our team is hardworking, creative and passionate about making things. We?re looking to grow our small and dedicated team by hiring a Production Assistant. *Qualifications: * * Excited about digital fabrication and looking to grow skills in cutting-edge technologies like CNC, 3D printing and CAD design * Good fit with the company culture, with a positive attitude * Able to follow directions with careful attention to details and safety * Able to self-organize processes to complete assigned work * Self-starter on tasks, able to anticipate what?s needed and get it done * Able to move a 4x8? sheet of material by themselves *The following experience would be an asset, but is not required:* * Working with power tools and machinery in a workshop/construction setting *Responsibilities Include: * _Communication_ * Ability to communicate with the team effectively and clearly * Documenting incidents for team review * Time tracking _Supporting CNC operations_ * Loading/unloading material and parts * Cleaning and lubrication * Starting and shutting down * Running code _Pre and Post Processing of Materials and Parts_ * Preparing stock * Estimating material on hand * Operating power tools and stationary tools * Sanding, sealing, cleaning, packaging * Cutting, routing, labeling, assembling * Running and maintaining edge banding machine * Wipe on finishing _Material Intake_ * Unloading material deliveries and running forklift (training provided) * Keeping materials from being damaged and loading the rack * Checking for factory defects/damage _Offcuts and Waste Material_ * Cutting large offcuts into small pieces for disposal * Recycling large boxes/sheets * Emptying dust collectors and garbage * Storing material offcuts and clearing rack regularly _Shop Cleaning_ * Keeping floors, surfaces and tools clean of dust and debris * Putting away tools, material and equipment * General shop and office cleaning _Shop Systems Implementation and Development_ * Following protocols and procedures * Contributing to ongoing system development *Staff must bring their own: * * Clean black t-shirt and work pants * Steel toe boots Using public transportation, biking or walking to work is a plus!
