About You / What We Are Looking ForThe City of Coquitlam is seeking enthusiastic, personable, energetic and outgoing aquatics focused professionals to complement our aquatic team. These casual positions are responsible for the planning and instructing of advanced aquatic programs such as National Lifeguard Pool and Water Park options and Water Safety Instructor at any one of our aquatic facilities. This position will appeal to applicants who have strong leadership and communication skills and are committed to excellence in customer service for our future team of aquatics leaders. Key responsibilities include: planning, preparing, organizing and delivering, assigned programs; evaluating participants; record keeping, and public relations pertaining to these programs. Minimum QualificationsCandidates must hold one of the following awards: Lifesaving Instructor Trainer National Lifeguard Instructor Swim for Life Trainer Successful candidates must be able to work weekends and evenings. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience instructing advanced aquatic courses would be considered an asset. What We Offer:The rate of pay for this position is $38.40 - $43.89 per hour (2024 rates) + 4% in lieu of benefits.
