Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Hog and pig farming. Dusty. Odours. Work setting: Rural area. Staff accommodation available. Tasks: Handling animals. Monitoring animal health. Carry out a pasture or pen breeding programs. Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Maintain livestock performance records. Maintain quality control and production records. Select livestock for sale. Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs. Maintain work records and logs. Hire and train staff. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Perform general farm duties. Supervision: 5-10 people. Area of specialization: Swine. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Attention to detail.
