Transport Desgagnés Inc., a recognized leader in maritime transport, is seeking a buyer to join its team.</p><p></p><p>Working closely with the ship superintendents, you will ensure continuity of operations for our diverse fleet, while collaborating with our technical teams. You will coordinate all activities related to supply chain management, including contract negotiations, purchasing and logistics, for the assigned vessels and/or portfolio of goods and services, effectively meeting the needs of Transport Desgagnés and its associated companies.</p><p></p><p>This position will also provide you the opportunity to contribute to process modernization, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and play a strategic role in the supply chain.</p><p></p><p>We are looking for a versatile individual who can prioritize effectively and is highly adaptable. If you are at comfortable with digital tools and enjoy teamwork, join us in driving our marine operations forward!</p><p></p><p><strong>More specifically, the Buyer-Logistician's main responsibilities are to:</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><ul><li>Participate in the preparation of specifications and invitations to tender</li><li>Identify and select partners (suppliers and subcontractors) who best meet the established qualification and certification criteria</li><li>Negotiate and award orders for goods and services in accordance with established policies</li><li>Ensure that goods and services are delivered from the source of supply to the user at the best cost and within the required timeframe, while complying with the terms and conditions of the purchase order or contract</li><li>Establish daily purchasing priorities for ship supplies in collaboration with the relevant ship superintendents, based on operational requirements (engine rooms, decks, galleys)</li><li>Work with teammates to respond effectively to various quality, financial, and environmental inspections, both internal and external</li><li>Establish and maintain professional relationships with suppliers to optimize their responsiveness to our needs</li><li>Ensure that purchasing processes and procedures are followed (compliance with requisitions, required authorizations, etc.)</li><li>Collaborate closely with the finance department to ensure that all the necessary documents are available for timely payments</li><li>Determine responsibility and, where applicable, the appropriate billing treatment when work or services are provided by a supplier</li><li>Handle purchasing for crew needs (food, bedding and laundry), parts and services for deck equipment, wheelhouse and engine room, fuel and lubricants, as well as products and services for other Desgagnés business units</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p></p><p><strong>Working conditions</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><ul><li>Permanent, daytime position</li><li>Working hours of 37.5 h per week</li><li>Comprehensive group insurance program (including dental insurance)</li><li>Registered Retirement Savings Plan (with employer contribution)</li><li>Employee assistance program and telemedicine</li><li>Ongoing employee training program</li><li>Annual vacation</li><li>Floating vacations, sick leave and statutory holidays</li><li>Social club</li><li>Parking available and accessible via the Québec-Lévis ferry</li></ul><p></p><p>In addition to these advantages, come and experience the joys of working in the Petit Champlain neighbourhood, close to the water (perfect for a morning-evening jog!), stores and sidewalk restaurants!</p> <br> <ul><li>College diploma in logistics, procurement, or a relevant field (or equivalent experience)</li><li>At least three (3) years of relevant experience i
