We are a downtown law firm seeking an associate suited to working in a team environment, and with experience in family law. Our ideal candidate has appeared at different levels of court, and various types of hearings. Our payment model is commission-based. The posted income is estimated on projected billings for an associate lawyer. The position is posted as full-time and in-person, but a full-time, hybrid work arrangement might be discussed. *Responsibilities:* * Representation of clients at all levels of Court across Alberta. This encompasses: - Legal research. - Draft, review and filing of legal documents. - Maintenance of files. - Providing legal advice in all matters related to family law. - Representation of clients in a prompt, ethical, professional manner. * Ongoing professional development. * Collaboration with the partners and other associates in the carriage of files. *Requirements and Preferences:* * Juris Doctor or equivalent degree from an accredited law school or Certificate of Qualification from the National Committee on Accreditation. * Must be an active member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta. * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. * Strong negotiation and advocacy skills. * Experience in family law is strongly preferred, and additional years of experience are a considerable asset. * At least two independent references must be provided. *Please note that only the candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
