We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator be responsible for our US payroll operations based in one of our GTA offices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing US payroll processes, performing various accounting tasks, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll systems, accounting principles, and attention to detail.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Prepare and process payroll for all hourly and salary employees, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations
* Oversee benefit and 401K enrollment and administration
* Maintain payroll records and address payroll-related inquiries
* Administer employee deductions, bonuses, and commissions
* Reconcile payroll before transmission and validate confirmed reports
* Assist with maintaining financial records, including ledgers, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll
* Perform month-end and year-end close processes
* Help prepare financial reports, statements, and forecasts
* Assist with reconciling bank statements and managing cash flow
* Ensure compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws
* Prepare and file tax reports, such as quarterly payroll tax returns and W-2s
* Support internal and external audits related to payroll and accounting
* Work with HR to ensure accuracy of employee data
* Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and compensation
*Job Requirements *
* Post Secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* 5 years of experience in payroll and accounting in a manufacturing or retail setting with a heavy focus on payroll for hourly employees
* 2-5 years experience handling US payroll
* Previous experience in ADP and SAP
* Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and accounting principles
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
* Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
