*Position Overview:*
As an Accountant at ITN Food Corporation, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. This full-time, on-site role is based in *Woodbridge - Vaughan, Greater Toronto Area*, Canada. You will manage essential accounting functions and work closely with other departments, contributing to our financial and operational success. Your responsibilities will include preparing and analyzing financial statements, performing reconciliations, managing monthly close activities, and supporting audit processes. You will also ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations, assist with financial forecasting, and provide insights to enhance financial decision-making.
*Roles & Responsibilities:*
* Perform full-cycle accounting duties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
* Manage the AP function, including processing, and posting vendor invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payment to suppliers.
* Reconcile AP sub-ledger to the general ledger on a regular basis to maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data.
* Maintain strong vendor relationships by promptly addressing inquiries and resolving discrepancies, fostering a positive and cooperative environment with key suppliers.
* Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements and reports in accordance with regulatory standards and company policies.
* Process payroll to ensure timely and accurate disbursements in compliance with employment laws.
* Monitor and manage cash flow to support financial operations, with a specific focus on optimizing AP to improve cash flow efficiency.
* Execute month-end and year-end closing procedures, including AP accruals and adjustments.
* Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and internal regulations.
* Collaborate with departments on financial planning and budgeting.
* Assist with internal and external audits by providing detailed AP documentation, reconciliations, and transaction histories.
* Perform and reconcile account and balance sheet entries.
* Provide insights and recommendations for financial reporting and decision-making.
* Maintain accuracy in the General Ledger.
* Develop and maintain financial transaction systems, including a structured and comprehensive chart of accounts.
* Manage and archive historical financial records systematically and securely.
*Qualifications:*
* 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the food manufacturing or distribution sectors.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and financial regulations to ensure compliance and accuracy.
* Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Proficiency in financial reporting, account reconciliation, and audit support.
* Experience with month-end closures and regulatory compliance standards.
* Skills in financial analysis, forecasting, and data interpretation to support decision-making.
