*The opportunity:*
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the intake of operational and project activities as they relate to communication needs. The incumbent assigns, tracks and leads communication work and meetings to assist with solutions and ensure deadlines are met. This requires the incumbent to work with Directors, Team Leads, Centre Staff, the Provost Office, MCO and IST on a regular basis to strategically deploy messages and content related to Centre priorities. Such activities will include projects, special events, workshops, programming and user support documentation (which will require conversion from technical to user language). The incumbent is well-versed in digital processes and will coordinate the effort to implementations. The incumbent will be responsible for leading the creation of The Centre's annual report and strategic communications plan.
*The qualifications and experience we?re looking for:*
* Undergraduate Degree in a related discipline is required.
* Minimum three years of copywriting (either in-house or agency) experience required.
* Experience working with web Content Management Systems with previous experience building pages required (Drupal, SharePoint Online, WordPress, etc.) is required.
* Demonstrated experience to lead a team to support technical solutions in a post-secondary environment is required.
* Experience translating technical documentation to familiar user language is required.
* Knowledge of print and digital processes, techniques and technologies is required.
* Experience coordinating concurrent projects and juggling multiple priorities is required.
* Experience following digital practices that adhere to the Accessible Information and Communication standard in the Accessibility for Manitobans Act is preferred.
* Experience working with project management methodologies, software and processes is preferred.
* Background in a university/college education environment and knowledge of teaching and learning technologies is preferred.
* Knowledge and experience with the University programs, policies, and procedures is preferred.
* An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
* Exceptional writing and editing skills are required.
* Proficiency in organizing multiple priorities, maintaining files and seeking ways to better streamline information is required.
* Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders is required.
* Must have excellent listening skills, the ability to pay attention to detail and be receptive to feedback.
* Excellent interpersonal and presentation communication skills are required.
* Excellent analytical skills including a thorough understanding of how to interpret user needs and translate those needs into solutions is required.
* Must be adaptive to change and able to manage stress effectively.
* Must be comfortable handling complexity: cross department/unit/faculty involvement.
