Position #: 203968 Expected Start Date: January 20, 2025 Union: HSAS Facility: Sandy Bay Health Centre City/Town: Sandy Bay Department: Addiction Services Community Clinics & Programs Type: Part-time regular FTE: 0.5 Shift Information: Days Hours of Work: 112 hours per 6 weeks Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: Yes Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Addictions Counsellor - Diploma $29.584 to $36.176 Travel Required: No Job Description: As a member of the interdisciplinary team, and under the general direction of the Manager of Mental Health and Addictions, the primary goal will be to restore, maintain and enhance the recovery of people seeking help for addiction and/or addiction related issues by implementing various modalities of addiction recovery programs. Responsibilities include providing informational programming as well as individual and group counselling sessions with clients. This position will be expected to assess individual and group needs of clients and implement plans to help clients reach their goals. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience- Minimum of one year experience in addictions/mental health would be desirableEducation- Mental Health & Addictions Counselling DiplomaLicenses- Valid Class 5 driver's licenseCompetencies- Problem solving skills- Demonstrated skills w/ Addiction and Concurrent disorders assessment/counselingKnowledge and Abilities- Knowledge Transtheoretical Model of Change- Knowledge of how addictions impacts the individual, community and families- Ability to screen for addictions and/or addiction related symptoms- Knowledge in group dynamics- Knowledge of screening and addiction assessment tools and procedures.- Knowledge in best practices in addictions and harm reduction strategies- Knowledge in co-current disorders and issues related to gambling addictions- Knowledge in ho...For more information on this job, please visit the employer's website.- LocationSandy Bay, SK
