Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Outdoors. In/on water. Dangerous. Wet/damp. Cold/refrigerated. Work setting: Staff accommodation provided. Remote location. Offshore. Tasks: Prepare nets, lines and other fishing tackle. Operate fishing gear to catch fish and other marine life. Clean, sort and pack fish in ice and stow catch in hold. Repair nets, splice ropes and maintain fishing gear and other deck equipment. Clean deck surfaces and fish hold. Steer vessels to and from fishing areas. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Marine Emergency Duties Certificate. Commercial Fishing Licence. Type of operation: Freezing. Type of gear: Handline. Field work location experience: Offshore or at sea. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Drug test. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Large workload. Own tools/equipment: Safety equipment/gear. Gloves. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?. Do you have previous experience in this field of employment?. Do you have the above-indicated required certifications?.
