*Simon's Specialty Foods is a wholesale manufacturer of pies and pastries for local and provincial customers. The role of order picker/packer is responsible for the timeliness and accuracy of orders. This is a fast past role requiring the ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.* _*Monday - Friday (Please do not apply if unable to work these days)*_ *Responsibilities:* ·Wrap, label and case individual frozen products ·Prepare orders by pulling items from freezer ·Restack freezer with prepared products · Follow the required company SOP's, GMP's, and Health and Safety Standards · Assess product quality as orders are picked. · Assist in loading delivery trucks with packed orders · Ensure accuracy of orders ? correct wrapping/labelling · Effective running of all relevant equipment & reporting any equipment defects to the Lead · Ensure standards are followed when wrapping and packing product · Ensure all packing materials are available, set up machinery, change equipment, operate & monitor equipment, and replenish materials as needed · Determine and report equipment malfunctions to appropriate parties · Maintain cleanliness & sanitation of equipment and assigned area · General warehouse clean up as required · Assist production team if needed · Other duties as assigned *Requirements:* · English proficiency ? written and oral · Frequent in/out of freezer · Occasional heavy lifting ? 40lbs · Must be able to stand for entire shift, frequent light lifting to 20 lbs · Should not have allergies to dairy or nuts. · Must be able to handle meat · Must have CSA approved safety boots and be able to do repetitive work · Must be able to follow instruction, work in cooperation with others, & must be attentive to detail to ensure accuracy of work assignments.
