Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Select type of insulation required. Apply and secure insulation using spraying, blowing, pasting, strapping, taping and other application and installation methods. Fit insulation around obstructions and between joists and studs. Brush waterproofing cement or other material over insulating materials. Fabricate and apply removable insulation pads and covers. Remove asbestos, ceramic fibres, lead and mould and urea-formaldehyde insulation materials from buildings. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Driver's License. Area of specialization: Spraying and blowing insulation. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own vehicle. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Manual dexterity. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years. Support for newcomers and refugees: Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: facilitating access to community resources, language training, skills training, etc.). Offers mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees . Support for youths: Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth.
