People like you!This is manual work of some variety entailing physical effort and agility in the performance of semi-skilled and unskilled construction and maintenance tasks in the Metres and Valves division. The incumbent performs related tasks including Water Metre Reading; the installation of Water meters and their maintenance; usage of software to collect information; customer service with residents regarding water meters. Performs related work as required.Qualifications include up to high school graduation, and experience in general construction and maintenance work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Some knowledge of the safety equipment and practices methods, techniques, materials, tools and equipment used in water related construction and maintenance work; of the functions of the water distribution system. Ability to perform a variety of semi-skilled manual tasks requiring the use of some independent judgement and action; to understand and effectively carry out oral and simple written instructions. Skill in the use of a variety of hand and power tools used in water maintenance and construction work. Sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to permit the performance of heavy manual outdoor work in all weather conditions. A valid Driver?s License for the Province of British Columbia is required.
