<p><strong>Department mission</strong></p><p>To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of all public facilities, equipment, and buildings, in order to support sustainable development and improve citizens? quality of life.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Responsibilities and goals associated with the position</strong></p><p>Reporting to the Planner ? Engineering, Buildings and Public Equipment, the incumbent of the Electrical Engineer position is involved in designing and laying out lighting systems (for streets, parking lots, sports facilities, architectural, etc.), traffic lights and crosswalks, and supervises external firms in the context of our projects.</p><p></p><ul><li>Conduct follow-up, i.e. do surveys, checks and renewals pertaining to various contracts.</li><li>Plan and design urban and architectural lighting systems.</li><li>Manage and track the projects under your responsibility, while staying within costs, schedules and the administrative frameworks in effect, including job-site monitoring.</li><li>Prepare call-for-tender documents for the projects assigned to you.</li><li>Prepare decision-making records, coordinate and monitor project-implementation activities with the various stakeholders involved in or affected by them.</li><li>Ensure that the work connected with contracts managed by the City is performed in keeping with the specifications, regulations and practices in use.</li><li>Check the compliance of the systems installed in the field, make appropriate recommendations and ensure that established standards are met.</li><li>Arrange visual, on-site surveys.</li><li>Be involved in preparing a new lighting policy for the City.</li><li>Be involved in the studies and recommendations for converting the lighting to LED.</li><li>Be involved in developing a lighting plan for certain areas of the City.</li><li>Regularly guide and direct company employees or City employees in performing work related to the type of job and ensure that the work performed achieves the intended objectives.</li><li>Performs any other related tasks.</li></ul><br><p><strong>Posting dates</strong></p><p>From December 11, 2024 to January 5, 2025</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Annuel Salary</strong></p><p>$80,838 to $105,272 (Professional)</p><p></p><p><strong>How to apply</strong></p><p>To apply for this position, go to <span><strong>www.pointe-claire.ca/jobs</strong></span> and click on ?My Profile?. Must have 4 years of experience.</p><p> </p><p>The position also has the following requirements:</p><ul><li>Be a member in good standing of the <em>Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec</em>;</li><li>Bilingualism (spoken and written French and English);</li><li>Tactful, calm and courteous;</li><li>Be organized and know how to manage your time;</li><li>Be able to think critically and have an analytical mind;</li><li>Able to work as part of a team;</li><li>Good knowledge of the MTMDET standards, traffic light simulation/synchronization software and AutoCAD software.</li><li>Good knowledge of building electricity.</li><li>Relevant experience in photometric calculations, load analysis, optimization of equipment distribution and quality.</li></ul>
