Job details
Education: Bachelor's degree. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged. Tasks: Monitor patients and advise physician of any changes in patients' condition. Address and document symptoms and changes in patients' conditions. Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions. Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families. Conduct disease screening. Deliver immunization programs. Dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician. Engage in research activities related to nursing. Manage home care cases. Operate or monitor medical apparatus or equipment. Provide consultative services regarding issues relevant to nursing profession and nursing practice. Provide nursing care. Provide supportive counselling and life skills programming. Supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse by the province/territory of work. Licensure as a Registered Nurse by provincial or territorial authorities. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Vulnerable sector check.
