*Location*: Campbell River Hospice Society, Campbell River, BC
*Position:* Part-time (2 days per week).
*Type:* Permanent, freelance or contract. Wage will vary depending on the type of employment

*Position Overview:*
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner Counsellor to join our dynamic, multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will provide therapeutic support to children and youth (ages 4?19), as well as some adults, who are coping with traumatic grief. Through the use of creative and evidence-based counselling modalities, you will empower individuals to process their emotions, navigate their grief journeys, and foster healing in a supportive, safe, and nurturing environment.
You will be a significant part of our Child & Youth Grief program, which offers free specialized support for children and teens and their families experiencing loss. This vital program creates a secure space for youth to express their feelings through art, play, and talk therapy, all tailored to their individual needs.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Provide individual and at times family therapy and group sessions to children, youth, and adults who are grieving.
* Utilize art therapy, play therapy, talk therapy, or a combination of these approaches to encourage emotional expression and facilitate healing.
* Collaborate with our team of clinical counsellors and support staff to create holistic care plans.
* Offer tools and resources to families to assist them in supporting their grieving children or loved ones.
* Maintain confidential client records and provide timely documentation.
* Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of new programs and initiatives.
* Adhere to a high level of confidentiality.
* Participate in other duties as assigned.
*Qualifications*
* Degree in Art Therapy, Social Work, Counselling or a related field.
* Registered or eligible for registration with a professional regulatory body (e.g., BCACC, CATA, or similar).
* Experience working with children, youth, and families dealing with trauma or grief.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a deep sense of empathy and compassion.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Experience in bereavement support is an asset.
*Working Hours*
* 2 days per week (flexibility in scheduling may be available).
