An experienced Office Assistant is immediately required at "OWL (Orphaned Wildlife) Rehabilitation Society". This is a permanent, part-time, hourly position , working 21 hours per week on every Saturday and Sunday, with an additional day mid week (flexible) 09:00-4:00 daily including a paid lunch.
We are a non profit society located in rural Delta, for 40 years we have been specializing in the rescue, rehabilitation and release of injured Raptors. As well as providing the medical care required to these birds that come from all over BC and further afield we spend a lot time on education both inhouse and offsite to groups and schools for presentations with our educators and their bird assistants.
The successful candidate would have a pleasant outgoing personality with great interpersonal skills as well as being a good multitasker who will be the point of contact for all incoming weekend calls and visitors etc. They will be capable of working closely with our Birdcare Manager, Supervisor, Educators, volunteers and Board of Directors.
*Responsibilities*
* Manage weekend office reception and phone calls, communications with staff and visitors.
* Process payments from Gift Shop sales and bird sponsorship cards.
* Handle and coordinate all tour and educational bookings.
* Scan and file Permits.
* Prepare and receive onsite invoices and receipts, process payments.
* Ensure office supplies are stocked and reordered as needed.
* Prepare onsite invoices and receipts.
* Manage the Donor Program and issue all donor income tax receipts.
* Prepare shipping labels and mail out online orders and close out the till weekly.
* Manage all Society memberships, process and issue cards
* Compile and Prepare AGM paperwork packages and mailout as required.
* Assist with Gift Shop inventory, stocking and tagging as required.
* Process, package, fill and mail out Owl pellet orders.
* Other tasks as assigned by the Birdcare Manager, Supervisor and Board as required.
*Qualifications*
* Pleasant demeanor and great people skills
* Office/business training an asset
* Proven office experience with strong clerical and administrative skills
* Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Pay: From $22.81 per hour
