RIWC is looking for a dedicated Newcomer Information Officer to support newcomers to Regina. This role is ideal for individuals eager to work in a community-based environment, assisting newcomers through information dissemination, program promotion, and needs assessments. The position provides an opportunity to grow, develop partnerships, and make a meaningful impact in the community. DUTIESPromote programs and services for newcomers in Regina and surrounding areasMaintain a current list of community services and settlement resourcesProvide information on settlement services, language training, and resourcesConduct needs assessments with clients and refer them to appropriate servicesOrganize and deliver group information sessions and orientations.Input and maintain client data in a database.Update program materials and community resource information, working with the Settlement CoordinatorAssist with report preparation related to services and programsCollaborate with community partners and other team membersPerform other duties as needed QualificationsPost-secondary degree in adult education, social services, or related field preferredExperience with diverse communities or newcomers is an asset but not requiredFluency in a language other than English is an assetAbility to learn quickly and work well with othersFlexibility and adaptability to community needsPassion for supporting newcomers and learning about settlement servicesKnowledge of available services and challenges newcomers face (training provided)Comfort working with diverse populations and cultural backgroundsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong communication skills, both written and verbalBasic computer skills and the ability to learn new toolsAvailability to work evenings and weekends, as requiredValid Class 5 drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle preferred
