Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Tasks: Interpret blueprints or other instructions to plan methods or sequences of operation. Plan the incorporation of landscape structures. Read blueprints or other instructions to determine work requirements. Trim trees to achieve the desired pruning objective such as crown cleaning, thinning, raising, reduction, restoration, espalier pruning, vista pruning. Manage landscaping projects. Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens. Apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides and other lawn care products. Apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas and injecting with treatment solutions. Direct crews who maintain the health and appearance of golf courses and their surrounding landscapes. Plan and co-ordinate the growth and use of plants for landscaping, ornamental uses and other purposes. Plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens. Plant and move trees. Tree removal. Construction specialization: Automated irrigation system. Fieldstone paths. Interlocking brick. Ornamental ponds, fountains and waterfalls. Poured concrete. Retaining walls. Rock gardens. Stone garden walls. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity.
