Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Hog and pig farming. Outdoors. Confined spaces. Dusty. Hot. Noisy. Odours. Wet/damp. Livestock. All weather conditions. Dirty. Work setting: Rural area. Tasks: Boar semen collection. Monitoring animal health. Perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medication(s), identification of piglets, and castration. Treat livestock health issues. Weaning. Feed and tend animals. Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Maintain quality control and production records. Maintain work records and logs. Set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns, pens and chicken coops. Equipment and machinery experience: Feeding and watering system. Area of specialization: Swine. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Attention to detail.
