First Nations Engineering Services Ltd. is a privately Indigenous owned engineering company based on the Six Nations of the Grand River in Ohsweken. FNESL provides high value Professional Engineering Services to their clients throughout Ontario. FNESL provides specialized engineering services throughout Ontario, focusing on water treatment and distribution systems, wastewater treatment, and collection systems. In this role, you?ll be responsible for developing and implementing standard processes for collecting, updating, maintaining, and managing asset infrastructure information. You?ll also contribute to asset management strategies, risk assessments, and financial planning. *Responsibilities:*
· Assists in managing assignments and projects relating to water, wastewater, roads, feasibility studies, assessments, water treatment plants, water reservoirs, pump houses, wastewater treatment plants, storm water management, and engineering studies.
· Completes design work including design briefs, design development, design concepts.
· Completes preliminary designs and calculations using guidelines, and standard engineering practices.
· Operate computer-assisted design software to complete process engineering and hydraulic calculations, and process assessments.
· Prepares conceptual designs, technical writings, plans, charts, graphs, details and graphics for proposals, reports, studies and presentations.
· Participates in and have ability to coordinate and prepare specifications for tender documents.
· Estimate quantities, cost of materials, equipment and labor costs to determine project feasibility.
· Collect research on relevant data related to projects and collate the data.
· Travel for company business, staff events, workshops and training.
· Ensure communication between project team members is maintained.
· Complies with applicable Provincial and Federal legislation, regulations, standards and policies.
· Ensure deliverables are completed for Senior Engineer?s thorough review.
· Have leadership, teamwork, multi-tasking, organizational, problem solving, and time management skills.
*Qualifications*:
· Understanding of the latest technologies in the water, wastewater, storm water, roads and other fields including engineering and construction methods.
· Comprehensive knowledge of applicable Provincial and Federal codes including the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
· Knowledge and respect of First Nations aspirations and Culture.
· Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD, Revit, Excel & Word.
· University bachelor?s degree in engineering with current license and good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario.
· Must have at minimum 5 years? experience as a Professional Engineer.
· Ability to have flexible work schedule to complete assignments when required.
· Responsible for protecting confidentiality relating to the company.
· MUST have a valid ?G? Class license and provide own transportation.
