MacKay Heating & Cooling is growing and has an immediate opening for an *HVAC Technician *to join our team heating and cooling experts. MacKay Heating & Cooling is a family business that has supported the Niagara region for over 60 years by providing reliable, honest and exceptional customer service to our customers. Key responsibilities of the HVAC Technician:
* Responsible for completing diagnostic and troubleshooting of customer equipment and identify repair or replacement solutions for our customers;
* Assist in the installation of various HVAC equipment, such as air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, HRV/ERVs, mini-splits, hot water tanks and tankless solutions and other HVAC equipment;
* Responsible to professionally service, maintain and install HVAC equipment and accessory items, in accordance with manufacturer specifications and local codes;
* To ensure the safe operation of all new installations and correctly instruct customers on proper operation, care and maintenance;
* You will be responsible for creating positive relationships with our customers by offering comfort solutions and other company products and services to demonstrate your ability to communicate, problem solve, ensure customer satisfaction and maximize home comfort;
* Use of our field service software via tablet and keep accurate records of all service, maintenance and installation calls;
*Ideal Candidate Qualifications*
The ideal candidate is a self-starter, positive person who enjoys working within a cohesive and motivated team. The successful candidate also has the following skills and capabilities:
* Ready to grow: we want like minded people who are looking to grow personally and professionally and support the growth ambitions of MacKay;
* Completed a minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent;
* Must have a Gas Technician II license;
* Extensive experience installing air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-split systems is preferred;
* Must have a valid 313D Air Conditioning license and CFC Permit (ozone depletion);
* Must have at least a Class G Driver?s License with a clean drivers abstract;
* 3 ? 5 years of field experience in service of various HVAC equipment;
* Be willing and able to work on a rotating on call schedule as required;
* Must be physically capable of performing all work required of this position, i.e. occasional lifting of 15 kg up to shoulder height, frequent bending, occasional squatting/kneeling, working inside and outside in all types of weather within environments that can be dusty and/or slippery;
* Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, both in written and verbal communications;
* Must have strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills and outstanding customer service skills;
* Very punctual and dependable and maintain company vehicle to a clean and safe standard; and
* Ability to work as positive member of a strong supportive team
*Job Type*: Full-time and reporting to the Director of Operations
