The governments of Canada and Alberta are providing additional funding to wildfire recovery efforts in Jasper. The federal government has committed $162M, $30M of which is earmarked for interim housing and $9M for permanent homes. The provincial government has set aside $8M, partly to compensate Jasper for lost property tax revenues in the wake of last year’s fire.
