NLHealthServices.ca Job Summary This Clinical Psychologist III with the Adult Rehabilitation, Geriatrics and Palliative Care Program is an integral member of both inpatient and outpatient interdisciplinary teams serving adult clients with acquired disability through disease or trauma as a result of impairment of the nervous and/or musculoskeletal systems(s). The Psychologist is expected to provide in-depth cognitive psychological assessment, DSM-5-TR diagnosis, appropriate therapy and education to the clients of the program and to serve as a resource on psychological factors in rehabilitation to family members, other team members and the community. Coverage within the program may be required.This position reports to the Division Manager for Rehabilitation Day Services and the Centre for Pain and Disability Management and maintains accountability to the Professional Practice Consultant for Psychology for integrity and professional practice issues. All positions in the Program are subject to reorganization of case/unit assignment based on operational requirements. Job Demands By applying for this job, you acknowledge an understanding that regular requirements and demands of this job include (but are not limited to):Occasionally, there is lifting or physical strength required, less than 10 lbs for files, boxes, or equipment.Regularly sits; occasionally works in awkward/cramped positions, and stands to facilitate or teach groups.Uses fine finger/precision work when on the computer and visual concentration is required when in sessions with patients (i.e. reviewing patient charts/notes, tests and for documenting work, and when reading or researching information).Visual concentration is required to interpret patient observations and integrate into patient evaluation.Auditory concentration is constantly required in sessions with patients to listen attentively, to be alert and to obtain and interpret information correctly.A higher than normal level of attentiveness is required when assessing high risk patients. Job Qualifications Graduation with an approved/recognized Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology is required.Graduation with an approved/recognized Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology is preferred.Registration or provisional registration with Newfoundland and Labrador Psychology Board is required.Graduate course work and supervised experience in cognitive and diagnostic assessment and evidence based therapy with adults and families is required.Previous experi
