<p><p> <p>POSTED: November 5, 2024 <p>CLOSING DATE: November 12, 2024 <p>COMPETITION: 2024-120 <p> <p> <p>INTERMEDIATE TEACHER <p>Part-time (0.4 FTE) position<p>Hollyburn Elementary School<p>Effective January 20, 2025 until June 30, 2025*<p>*This assignment may start earlier than the given start date<p> <p>The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from approximately $50,000 to $109,000, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE. <p> <p>Required Qualifications and Experience <p>This position replaces a teacher that is on a leave. The successful applicant for this position must possess a Certificate of Qualification from the Teacher Regulation Branch and demonstrate evidence of the following:<p><p> A clear understanding of the characteristics of the intermediate student and the ability to develop a positive learning environment addressing the intellectual, physical and emotional needs of intermediate students<p> Demonstrated ability and experience to teach, assess and plan an intermediate program<p> A wide repertoire of strategies addressing assessment (formative, summative, peer and self)<p> A proven ability to frame the curriculum and classroom management around equity, diversity, inclusivity, and reconciliation<p> Knowledge and experience in working with learners with varying needs and support staff; demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction in the classroom <p> Hold a valid BC teaching certificate<p> Knowledge and experience in adapting learning objectives and strategies to meet the needs of English Language Learners at varying needs<p> Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills and proven ability and commitment to work cooperatively and effectively with other educators<p> An understanding of the First People?s Principles as they relate to the curriculum and our local context<p> A willingness to support and enhance ADST and innovative learning at the intermediate level<p> Knowledge and proven experience in the area of technology (the ability to integrate various technologies into the curriculum, modes of assessment, and its use for student adaptations)<p> Proven ability to create a safe and caring learning environment for students using the principles of social-emotional learning <p> A strong commitment to positive and consistent engagement and communication with parents and other stakeholders<p><p> <p>Why West Vancouver Schools? <p>West Vancouver Schools, the premier place for learning, has a long-held reputation for excellence and innovation.
