Tourism spending in Manitoba reached a record high of $1.82B in 2023, exceeding pre-pandemic levels for the second year in a row. At 10.3M, the number of tourism visits has also improved since the pandemic, but has yet to reach the 2019 record of 10.5M.
Manitoba’s Indigenous tourism industry is growing significantly, according to a recent report by the Conference Board of Canada. Between 2019 and 2023, the number of Indigenous-owned tourism operations rose from 81 to 170, creating more than 1,000 jobs.

Norway House Cree Nation is spending $40M to convert the former Manitoba Hydro building in Winnipeg into a wellness and community hub for its members.
