Arbios Biotech has completed the construction of its bio-fuel facility, the Chuntoh Ghuna, in Prince George. The Chuntoh Ghuna facility will begin converting wood bark into biofuel later in 2025 and will require 50 full-time employees. Initially, it will have a capacity of 50,000 barrels of bio-oil, with the potential to expand to 200,000 barrels.
FortisBC has introduced a new $10K rebate for people who replace old gas heating systems in their homes with more efficient dual fuel systems. These systems make use of electric heat pumps and gas furnaces.

The Government of British Columbia and Halfway River First Nation have begun a landscape planning pilot project to reduce the impacts of development on the Nation. As part of the agreement, the province is also directly awarding a petroleum and natural gas tenure to Halfway River so that the Nation can decide how to develop their land.

Northern Development Initiative Trust has approved $1.2m in funding for projects throughout Northern B.C. The District of Vanderhoof will receive $141,585 to upgrade the Vanderhoof Arena's heating/cooling system, increasing energy efficiency.
Trail Council has awarded a $1.52m contract to West Kootenay Mechanical to upgrade the underfloor heating, ammonia plant, and dehumidifier in the Kids Rink. The project is expected to be completed by July 2024.
