The Government of Yukon has announced an increase of $5.2M in funding for RCMP in Yukon as part of its 2025-2026 budget, for a total of $47M. Pending legislative approval, the funds will help create additional officer positions, fund pay raises and upgrading police equipment and infrastructure.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is recruiting for new police members in Saskatchewan. A new recruitment drive is expected to bring a diverse range of applicants. The RCMP hosts online and Mentor night sessions to support their recruitment. The next Mentor night is expected to occur at Buffalo Narrows, with dates to be determined.

The Brandon Police Service is planning to retrofit an existing building into a new police operations centre. The administration is currently negotiating a property purchase but once operational, the new $4.5M building will house major crimes investigations and research teams.

The new Saskatchewan Marshals Service recruited 10 new police officers to start working later this year after completing seven weeks of training. The new service aims to support RCMP and other law enforcement to address rural crime. The Saskatchewan Marshals Service will be fully operational in 2026 with a team of 70 marshals.

The Township of Langley has released its 2025 budget which includes funding to increase the number of emergency services staff employed. The new budget provides for two new RCMP officers, two bylaw officers and 11 firefighters, as well as additional staff for sidewalk snow and ice control.

The new RCMP detachment in Niverville is now operational but will remain closed to the public until summer. The office will staff five individuals: one corporal, three constables, and one detachment service assistant serving in an administrative position. Officers are currently working out of the office, but the administrative role is yet to be filled.
