The Government of Manitoba launched a new plan to end chronic homelessness in the province. The plan includes providing social housing and mental health and addiction supports. Starting in February, residents of encampments in Winnipeg will be gradually moved into housing, including 300 new social housing units. The Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation provided $30.6M through the Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF) to the City of Winnipeg.
